Even after his death, 28-year-old Kummarikuntla Harish gave a new lease of life to five patients as his organs were donated by his family members after he was declared brain dead at corporate hospital in Hyderabad.
Bhadrachalam: Even after his death, 28-year-old Kummarikuntla Harish gave a new lease of life to five patients as his organs were donated by his family members after he was declared brain dead at corporate hospital in Hyderabad.
Harish, a native of Bhadrachalam, met with an accident recently at Gommuru sand ramp in Burghampadu mandal. He was severely injured and was rushed to Khammam government hospital.
Later, he was shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment where he was declared brain dead while undergoing treatment.
Hospital doctors counseled the family members of the deceased regarding organ donation. Initially, the family members rejected the idea. However, they later gave their consent to donate his organs.
Harish, who was married to a girl from Palvancha last year, met with an accident when he was going to his in-laws place to celebrate his first wedding anniversary.
MLA Sunnam Rajaiah and other leaders paid deep condolences. People in large numbers attended his last rites.
