Warangal Urban: The Dy.Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari has advised unemployed youth to opt for self-employment by taking up entrepreneurship instead of looking for employment in government and private sectors.

He said if an unemployed youth becomes entrepreneur, he could provide jobs to a few others besides ensuring his own livelihood. Several corporations in the State have been providing subsidy up to Rs 5 lakh to launch an industrial unit, the Minister said.

The Dy.CM has addressed gathering of youth at a mega job mela held at Government ITI under the aegis of Employment and Training Department in Warangal on Wednesday. He informed that the State Government has been making efforts to fill up vacancies in various departments.

Home and Labour Welfare Minister N Narsimha Reddy, addressing the youth, said that so far 150 new companies have come up in Telangana providing employment to about 40,000 persons. Soon another 150 companies are going to come up whereby an estimated 50,000 jobs would be provided.

He said in order to reduce pressure on Hyderabad it is planned to set up new industries in Warangal. Setting up industries in the city would help to create employment opportunities to local youth, the Minister said.

Narsimha Reddy informed that about 600 youth got jobs in a recently held job mela in Karimnagar. The appointment letters would be issued to them within a month. He advised the youth not to approach private agencies to go abroad in search of jobs.

Nearly 32 companies have taken part in the job mela where it was aimed to fill up about 4432 jobs. The Labour Department is planned to conduct job melas in all the districts to ensure jobs to 25000 youth.

ZP chairperson G Padma, MP A Seetaram Naik, MLA D Vinay Bhasker, mayor N Narender, KUDA chairman M Yadava Reddy, commissioner of police G Sudheer Babu and District Collector Amrapali Kata were present.
