Karimnagar: Steps will be taken for issuing loans for the first time to people in towns and rural areas through Khadi and Rural Industries Department (KRID) under ‘Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme (CMEGP), informed the Chairman of the KRID of Telangana on Wednesday. Speaking to the media persons here, Md Yousaf said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is determined for the development of industries in the towns and cities.

About 120 units are sanctioned for Telangana State under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to which subsidies will be given through KRID of the State by selecting the beneficiaries through online, he informed.

Industries such as granite, hallow bricks, welding and readymade garments will be sanctioned loans through KRID of the State by which many unemployed youth can be benefited. In addition, 500 to 3,500 members of castor industries can also be benefitted.

About 150 applications have been received for establishing units under the KRID; out of them, 95 were selected and permissions are given to seven units for 35 per cent of subsidy, he said. The selection process is done under the supervision of the District Collector by forming a Task Force Committee. The selected beneficiaries will be given coaching to develop skills for establishing industries, he added.

Joint Director of the Industries Department Raiappa and the District Regional Officer Ashok accompanied the Chairman of the Telangana State KRID.
