Lions Club asks women to serve society
Lions Club International’s international director Aruna Abhey Oswal has called upon the women to come forward in large numbers and serve the society through Lions Club. Across the world the women were being empowered and making use of the platform provided by Lions Club.

The women have to make their mark in the society in the field of charity, she suggested.Aruna Oswal, a renowned industrialist, was here to attend Lions Club 320F district cabinet installation ceremony in Hanamkonda on Sunday evening.
She stressed on the need of active role of women in Lions Clubs marking the centennial year of foundation of Lions Club.
She informed that Gudrun Bjort Yngvadottir, from Gardabaer, Iceland, who has been elected as first vice- president of Lions Clubs International, was set to become the international president of the club.
The international director administered the oath of the office to the district vice-governors KC John Bunny and Potlapalli Srinivasa Rao, secretary Prof Y Ranga Reddy, treasurer PV Narayana Rao, and other cabinet officers.
She distributed 100 dual desks to government schools and 100 sewing machines to women in the district on the occasion.
Lions Club 320F district governor P Sampath Reddy said marking the centennial year of the Club, they planned to organise 100 charitable programmes in the current year and to make efforts to get recognition as the best club. ‘We are going forward with a motto, Make an impact,’ he said.
On the day eight new Lions Clubs and six Neo Clubs (for school students) were launched. Multiple council chairman Prof V Gopal Reddy, GLT leader J Bheemaiah, past governors K Rajender Reddy, Mahesh Agarwal, D Lavakumar Reddy, installation chairman Yada Ramesh, K Ramgopal Reddy and others were present.
