Bhadrachalam: The people in general and tribals in particular living in the Agency area are going to get corporate-level medical and health facilities at the Government Area hospital, which was developed with Rs 18.14 crore, extended by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard).

Of the sum, Rs 14.14 crore was spent on the construction of the hospital building and Rs 1.03 crore to acquire modern medical equipment. The bed strength of the hospital is doubled to 200 and the hospital is officially declared a 200-bed hospital.

The hospital will rank number two in the State after the medical and health facilities available in the State capital.

The higher-ups in the State government have already given their nod to recruit doctors and other clinical personnel.

According to Medical and Health Principal Secretary Rajeshwar Tiwari, necessary government orders would be issued soon for recruiting the medical professionals.

The Principal Secretary says that the State government, after the formation of Telangana, focused attention on improving basic amenities, providing modern medical equipment, appointment of medical officers and clinical staff and improvement of sanitation in hospitals.

The services, which would be rendered to patients including the expectant and lactating mothers, by the hospital have been recognised at national and State-level.

In recognition of the meritorious services, the State government presented awards twice and the Center once to the hospital. The Bhadrachalam Agency residents are going to access better medical and health amenities soon.

Dialysis Ccenter: Bhadrachalam Area Hospital Superintendent Dr Koti Reddy said that the upgraded 200-bed Area Hospital with all its state-of-the-art amenities is ready to serve the public. Importantly, a dialysis center has been set up, he added.

Patients from Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh frequent the hospital for treatment, he added.
