Morthad (Nizamabad): The students of the Government Residential School for Backward Classes here are facing many problems, even without blackboards and benches. The construction of the school hostel building has been suspended half-way.

There are only 160 students out of the sanctioned strength of 240 in the school. The school has fifth, sixth and seventh classes. Without hostel facility, the students keep their things in the classroom, making it congested.

There are only two toilets for a strength of 160 students. The bore well in the campus is not productive and there are no staff to clean the toilets.

Teachers said that students are unable to understand what they are saying due to lack of blackboards. They also said many students are leaving the school for want of minimum amenities. The school has no playground and thick bushes have grown all around the school.

A student, Rakesh said that they are forced to drink bore well water as there is no drinking water facility in the school. Another student, Naveen said that they are practically living in the classrooms as the hostel building was stopped.

School teacher Renuka said that teachers have been facing difficulty in explaining lessons to the students without blackboards and benches.
