Kothagudem: District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu stated that the Assistant Engineers (AEs) would be held responsible if the works of Mission Bhagiratha remained incomplete.

While reviewing the Mission Bhagiratha works at the Collectorate here on Friday, the Collector gave a good dress down to the AEs when they pointed out that there was shortage of sand in the district which resulted in delay.

“You were told to inform me immediately if there was shortage of sand. Why didn’t you do it?” The Collector chided the AEs.

He advised them to contact the Tahsildars concerned to address the issue of sand shortage and warned them not to raise the issue again.

The Telangana Mineral Development Corporation would solve the problem immediately if the AEs wrote to them about the problem, he added.

When an AE informed him about the sand shortage in Allapalli mandal, the Collector immediately contacted the Tahsildar of that mandal and solved the problem.
