Sircilla: Animal Husbandry Department Joint Director Kanthaiah Sena urged the shepherds to take care of the sheep units properly that were sanctioned to them under ‘Sheep Rearing Scheme’ for their financial development.

In a press release here on Friday, he said that the government had decided to sanction sheep units to as many as 16,162 beneficiaries in two phases, who were identified in the district belonging to 190 societies. Till date 2,400 beneficiaries got the sheep units.

“We got information that some of the beneficiaries are trying to sell and recycle the sheep sanctioned under Sheep Rearing Scheme. A Special Officer will hold sudden inspections in villages to keep a check on such irregularities along with taking necessary action against the shepherds, who try to sell or recycle the sheep units,” warned the JD.

Joint Director Kanthaiah Sena suggested the people to call toll free number 18004255393 if they notice misuse of the scheme in their villages and elsewhere.
