Warangal: The Deputy Chief Minister, K Srihari, expressed serious displeasure over the delay in the implementation of Mission Bhagiratha works and admonished the officials concerned over the delay.

He told the district collectors and officials to review the works once in every week to closely monitor their progress. The Deputy CM said he would hold review meeting with officials and elected representatives once in every five months.

Srihari had on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review Mission Bhagiratha works and agriculture activities in erstwhile Warangal districts. He directed the officials to engage additional workforce to execute the works in a speedy manner.

The officials and elected representatives should work in effective coordination to complete the works in line with the set deadline. The officials should follow the revised schedules for the implementation of the mission, which aims to supply drinking water to every household in the district by January 1, 2018, he noted.

On the implementation of financial assistance scheme for the farmers, Srihari said it was decided to establish farmers’ coordination committee to ensure the amount would be credited directly into the farmer’s bank account.

Rs 8,000 per acre would be given to farmers from the next year. The coordination committees would be to set up at village, mandal, district and State-level and they would work in harmony with officials and elected representatives, Srihari said. He asked the officials to prepare the list of farmers having agriculture land with clear titles.

Referring to land registrations, the Deputy CM said new software was being readied to handle the registrations. The registration offices would soon be equipped with the new software that ensures utmost transparency in land registrations.

A registration of land executed at a certain place would be known to the officials all over the State and helps in avoiding duplication of land registrations and double registrations that have become a trouble, Srihari pointed out.

ZP chairperson G Padma, MPs A Seetaram Naik and P Dayakar, MLAs D Vinay Bhasker, K Surekha, E Dayakar Rao, Dr T Rajaiah, Ch Dharma Reddy, A Ramesh, M Y Reddy, V Sathish Kumar and others were present along with district collectors and officials.
