Bhadrachalam: Contributing her bit towards the humanity, a doctor in the Government Area Hospital has created a record of sorts by carrying out 3,253 deliveries in a span of one year. DR K Saroja, a gynecologist working on contract in the neonatal care section of the hospital, has carried out 1,833 normal and 1,420 caesarian deliveries between April 2016 and April 2017.

Of the 4,331 deliveries carried out at the hospital during the same period, 3,253 deliveries were handled by Dr K Saroja alone. Noticeably as her stint as a gynecologist for the last three years, she hardly received any complaints from any quarters.

Hospital superintendent Dr MV Koti Reddy, who impressed by the work of Dr Saroja, brought the services rendered by her to the notice of Principal Secretary of Medical and Health Department, Rajeswar Tewari recently when the latter visited the hospital.

Responding to it, the Principal Secretary lauded the doctor for her services and advised her to apply for special incentive from the government. However, later it was found that the government employees who draw salaries from the Treasury were only eligible for such special incentives.

Speaking to The Hans India, Dr K Saroja said that her father, K Rama Naidu, was her role model when it came to discharging the duties with dedication.
