Workshop on design at GITAM
Department of Mechanical Engineering, GITAM (Deemed to be University) Hyderabad is going to organise a three-day workshop on ‘Design for Manufacturability’
Hyderabad: Department of Mechanical Engineering, GITAM (Deemed to be University) Hyderabad is going to organise a three-day workshop on ‘Design for Manufacturability’ (DFM) at its campus from March 8 to 10, Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor said in a press release on Tuesday.
The focus of this workshop is to identify the manufacturing constraints that influence the design of parts and sub systems. Participants will be introduced to the DFM methodology and will be able to avoid infeasible or impractical designs. The participants will also explore specific aspects of DFM, such as Design for Assemble (DFA) Design for Maintenance, Design for sustainability etc. Participants will also be exposed to principles based on practical examples from industry.
This workshop is recommended for anyone involved in product design, manufacturing engineering and manufacturing management.
