Vijayawada: The Women Study Centre of Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana College and the Innerwheel Club of Vijayawada Mid-Town jointly organised ‘Sankranthi Sambaralu’ on Tuesday. Rangoli competition was held on the college premises as part of the Sankranthi festivities.

Students of the college were enthusiastic towards the rangoli competition and exhibited their talent of making colorful rangoli’s with Navadanyalu, Gobbemma and others, symbolising Sankranthi.

Speaking on the occasion, KBN College Principal, Dr V Narayana Rao said that Indian culture and tradition had a special place in the world. “The present generation is ignoring the tradition of participating in festivals in today’s competitive world.” He complimented the organisers for arranging such programmes that signify the importance festivals and tradition.

The club president KL Anisha said that the organisation was participating in various social service programmes. “Every year on the occasion of Sankranthi festival, the Innerwheel Club would organise various programmes in preserving the culture and tradition,” she added.

The club secretary, G Bhuvanya, college staff Dr V Subhashini, A Annapurna, N Manjula, G Krishnaveni and others were present at the event.
