Kurtalam seer calls upon Telugus to protect culture

Guntur: Kurtalam Peethadhipati Seer Siddeswarananda Bharati Swamy stressed on need to protect our tradition and culture.

A Sankrati Kavitha Goshti programme was held under the aegis of Srinatha Peetham at Kalipeetham in Guntur city on Tuesday.

In his discourse, the Swamiji said that Telugu culture was already spread to America and some other countries and Telugu people residing in those  countries were celebrating Sankranti festival in  a traditional manner. They are performing pujas to the gods in temple in those countries to protect our culture.  He felt that there was need to conduct some more Kavitha Goshtis in the days to come. He said that there was a need to perform yagnas to protect dharma.  

Earlier, Dr S Gangappa, Dr G Vaidehi, Dr D S Dixit,  Dr M Narasimha Murthy, Dr A V K Sujatha participated in the Sankranti Kavitha Goshti programme and presented kavithas on Telugu Sankranti.

Later, Srinadha Peetham Guntur director PSR Prasad, felicitated the poets.
