Vijayawada: The 75th death anniversary of revolutionary poet Tripuraneni Rama Swamy was observed at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, journalist Kothapalli Ravi Babu said the present day politicians were disobeying the orders passed by the courts on gambling. It was ridiculous that the court orders were disobeyed in a democratic country by the politicians. He said that the MLAs and MPs were starting the events like cockfight and Jallikattu, in gross violation of court orders. He called upon the youth to come forward to create awareness among people on the cruelty against animals and birds.

Revolutionary Poets Association (Virasam) member Arasavalli Krishna said that Rama Swamy was an atheist and was always opposed the Congress and its ideologies. Revolutionary poets and followers were present.
