Shilparamam Arts, Crafts, and Cultural Society organised various cultural activities over the weekend at its premises. The cultural events began with the rendering of Andhra Natyam by Sanjay Vadapalli along with his group. The group performed the popular dance form Navajanardhana Parijatam Navajanardhana Parijatam is an episode of love, affection, separation, and anger in the lives of Lord Krishna and his concert Sathyabhama.

Navajanardhanam is a variety of Kalapam - dance ballet which was regularly performed in Kunti Madhava Swamy temple of Pitapuram. In olden days, this dance was performed for 9 nights in Vishnu temples and ended with the recitation of 10th canto of Maha Bhagavatha on the 10th day. The group mesmerised the audience with their great dancing skills.

Following the Andhra Natyam by Sanjay Vadapalli, Perini Kumar along with his team performed items like ‘Mela Prapti’ and ‘Tahana Vinyasam’ in Perini dance. Perini is the ancient male dance form that has flourished during Kakatiya Dynasty. It is called as the dance of warriors and it was believed that this dance form invoked ‘Prerana’ in the warriors before leaving to the battleground.

The cultural evening ended with vthe Bharatanatyam performance by Srishti Bhudori. She performed for items like Murugan Koutwam; It is a piece offering salutations to Lord Murugan describing his valor, beauty and unmatched strength and seeking his blessings. Varnam; It is the most challenging piece of the Bharatanatyam repertoire. It includes long and intricate footwork bits with abhinaya. Javali; It is a famous composition of the Telugu poet Pattabhiramayya.
