1 positive, 10 suspected Swine Flu cases in East Godavari

Kakinada: There seems to be no reprieve from the prevalence of H1NI cases on East Godavari. The heat sensitive H1 N1 virus spreading to different places in the district resulting in rise in number of suspected cases to ten and with one positive case.According to district medical authorities there are six suspected cases in Rajamahendravram government hospital and PCR [ Swab test] reports are awaited from Visakhapatnam.
As per the details available there are one positive and five suspected cases in Kakimada government general hospital [ KGGH] . Swab test reports are awaited from PCR lab.According to Kakinada Branch of Indian Medical Association [ IMA] president, Dr. Vadrevu Ravi , no suspected Swine Flu cases were admitted to nursing homes and hospitals in the city and surrounding areas.
“If suspected cases approach us we start treatment and the same will be intimated to district medical and health authorities for necessary follow up. This has been necessitated as the family members of suspected cases at the place of origin has also to be provided with preventive medical care to avoid the spread of this health hazard,” he said.
