Funds to support underprivileged students, local schools and orphanages

Wells Fargo Enterprise Global Services (EGS) - India announced that team members in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad have completed a Fundraising Week that helped raise more than Rs 32 lakh, which will be utilised to improve infrastructure in government schools; provide financial support to underprivileged students; and support children with special needs.

In Hyderabad, the proceeds from the Week will be utilised to support Izzatnagar Government Primary School, Hafeezpet Government Primary School, Zilla Parishad High School, Kothaguda and the PSS Trust, which works to improve the lives of girls in India.

Wells Fargo EGS – India has a long-term association with these schools and institutions working in tandem with partner NGOs. “We have a robust annual calendar of community programmes. What makes Fundraising Week unique is the fact that it gets our team members involved in a fun way for a social cause,” said Aradhana Kurup, head of corporate sustainability.

This year, services offered by team members included car washes, technical learning sessions, financial advice and culinary efforts. The effort was part of the Fundraising Week from May 9 – 13, which Wells Fargo has marked since 2011.

“Driven by the spirit to give for a cause that is close to our hearts, our team members come up with very creative ways of generating funds. While it makes significant impact on the communities we live in, the week-long event also strengthens the commitment of our team members to give back to the community we are part of,” Kurup added.
