US-based global nonprofit orgainsation, ‘The International STEM Society for Human Rights’ (ISSHR) announced the three-day ‘H.E.R (Humanity Education & Rights) India Conference’, which will be held at the Indian School of Business (ISB) from August 23.
US-based global nonprofit orgainsation, ‘The International STEM Society for Human Rights’ (ISSHR) announced the three-day ‘H.E.R (Humanity Education & Rights) India Conference’, which will be held at the Indian School of Business (ISB) from August 23.
This is the first international conference on exploring modern science and technology solutions for humanity, education and rights.
The conference will feature talks, film screenings, arts exhibitions, opportunities and special programmes for local community members and stakeholders to collaborate. Preference will be given to leaders from communities local to the hosting country, and especially for women and youth leaders.
Justice R Subhash Reddy, Lokayukt; Nishtha Satyam, Head, Strategic Partnerships, UN Women; parents of Nirbhaya Jyoti; Dr Florian Schwandner, Director, Strategic Initiatives, ISSHR, Climate Scientist, JPL, NASA; Rajiv Uttamchandani, Founder and Chairman, ISSHR among others will participate and deliberate in the conference
“The H.E.R. India Conference will bring together government officials, NGOs, professors, teachers, and students from Hyderabad and around the world, to discuss, debate, and implement solutions which aim to address India’s most urgent human rights crises,” informed ISSHR Founder & Chairman, Rajiv Uttamchandani who is an astrophysicist, professor, and social entrepreneur from the United States.
Some of the topics which will be discussed during the Conference include Use of Technology to Preserve Universal Human Rights; Violence Against Women and Girls; Empowerment of Women; Child Marriage, Slavery, & Human Trafficking; Bullying & Cyber Crimes, Gender Equality, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), Child Marriage, Child Pornography, Sexual Assaults and others.
Pre-event campaigns
ISSHR will host the ‘Adopt H.E.R. Village Campaign’, which will start on August 15, in which it will donate smartphones and electronic devices to girls and women in villages throughout India and the world. These women will serve as H.E.R. Ambassadors and serve as a medium to protect rights for women and girls in villages.
The pre conference events will be conducted from August 23 onwards by students of H.ER Clubs, panel discussions will be held and film screenings will be on ‘The Price of Sex’ (documentary); short videos and Public Service Announcements from the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles, California, USA.
