World number one tennis player Sania Mirza inaugurated the ‘Label Bazaar season 2’ at Park Hyatt in Banjara Hills on Friday, which was presented by her sister and designer Anam Mirza along with her fiancé Akbar Rasheed.

The fashion extravaganza was a delight to every style-obsessed shopper who could choose from a variety of designs put forth by new and promising Indian designers and a boost for them as they shared stage with their international counterparts.

Speaking after the inauguration, Sania Mirza said, “This is the second edition of Label Bazaar and I’m so glad that you guys are making it back. I guess this is the first time that a fashion show is happening here. I hope they will try to make it bigger and that I can be the brand ambassador for next time as well.

“I have always loved fashion. Although, I don’t know much about it, I am blessed to have a good stylist and my team with me. The best thing for me is to be comfortable in what I wear. I don’t really care about what’s fashionable,” she added.

Curator and designer, Anam Mirza said, “It’s been a great success last year and we are hoping for the same this time. It is not just an exhibition. We give a lot of importance to shopping as well. I believe in bringing non cliché fashion trends in Hyderabad as I can see that there are blooming fashion lovers all over the city.”

Giving an input on their selection for the show, Pratima Jain, designer of ‘Purple Style House’ said “We have Indian ethnic wear, which includes single garments that can be worn in three ways including crop tops, skirts, gown, jackets, bronzers etc. We used soft colours in fabrics. We mainly focused on crafts so that by wearing this any women can look slimmer and stylish.”

Another designer, Farheen F Shaikh of ‘Lehang’s for Bride’ said, “We have royal couture and ethnic outfits for brides and also people can normally wear it on occasions. Every lehanga has intricate designs with pure fabrics including pure kaish work, zari work and also chicken kadhi works in it. It gives a very classic look in white so that’s why we showcased all dresses in that colour.”
