A daylong session for aspiring Agri-entrepreneurs and startups is organised at National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) campus in Rajendernagar on October 6.

The ‘Agri Boot Camp’ is organised in association with ‘The Indus Entrepreneurs’ (TiE) – Hyderabad Chapter and ‘a-IDEA’. The objective is to sensitise early stage entrepreneurs and extend incubation support to promising, innovative start-ups in Agri sector. The shortlisted startups can make a pitch before a panel of experts and mentors.

The speakers for the session include PVGK Murthy – Director, Ingrain Technologies, Prabhir Mishra - Managing Partner, Saatra Capital Advisory and Dr R Kalpana Sastry - Joint Director, NAARM & VP, a-IDEA.

Announcing the camp, Sreedevi Devireddy, Executive Director, TiE Hyderabad said, “India is facing unique challenges in attracting the external investments as many of the investors are conservative to invest in agriculture due to lack of proper understanding of industry dynamics.

In fact, even if the investment is made, for faster scalability, next series of fund is hard to find for Agri-entrepreneurs as the returns are very slow and at the top of everything, investors do have options to invest in startups in other sectors other than Agri.

“This camp would provide an opportunity to entrepreneurs for mentoring from the experts, networking with industry peers and pitching their ideas to the VCs,” she said.
