The Yacht Club of Hyderabad in collaboration with the Rashtriya Life Saving Society (RLSS) launched the State’s first ‘Life Saving and Life Guard’ training centre at Hussain Sagar recently.

“After experiencing the recent floods in the city and the fact that basic safety is not part of the Indian psyche we thought it is important to set up a comprehensive training center here,” said Suheim Sheikh of the Yacht Club

“The RLSS has trained about 2,00,000 people in Trauma management, First aid, Lifesaving and Lifeguarding and we are extremely happy to open a centre in Hyderabad,” said Admiral Purushottam Sharma, founder of RLSS.

A total of 35 young sailors from The Yacht Club were trained in lifesaving skills during the launch. The next course is scheduled on November 5. The training programmes offered are ‘First Aid Courses’ and ‘Aquatic Life Saving Courses’.
