Dhanunsh, Varshith win Brilliant chess titles
Dhanunsh Reddy of Pallavi Model School, Alwal won the junior title in the 128th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament at Brilliant Grammar High School in Dilsukhnagar late Sunday evening.

He aggregated 5.5 points from six rounds. Mir Mahir Ali with five points finished second while Ch Sai Maneendra secured the third place with an overall tally of 4.5 points.
Meanwhile, in the open category, Ch Sai Varshith and Digvijay Sunil tied for the top spot with 5.5 points. In the tie-break decider, Sai Varshith clinched the verdict. Trisha took the third place with five points.
Later, Dr K Kanna Reddy, Secretary of Hyderabad District Chess Association (HDCA) distributed the prizes.
