In a remarkable achievement, 24-year-old Hyderabad-born US-based, Akhilesh Reddy Singi Reddy has been selected to represent the country at the ‘United Nations Youth Assembly’ (UNYA).

Akhilesh has been chosen as a ‘Youth Delegate’ and will join the gathering for the winter session at United Nations Head Quarters, Manhatthan, New York from February 1 to 3.

The youngster, currently working in North Carolina, is excited said, “I am spending extra hours for research to do well at the conference and make the representation be felt.

I also started an online petition to UN on change.org to gather youth support for ‘India as permanent member of United Nations Security Council’.”

“I am privileged to receive this opportunity and more than that it’s is a huge responsibility. Being a representative of a country makes me so proud but same time obliged to bring it a good name,” he said.
