Pearson India has launched a first-of-its-kind ‘MyPedia Reader Creative Writing Contest’ thatgives students an opportunity to write stories and have them published by Pearson. The contest is open to students of Grades 4 to 12. The winning stories will be hand-picked by a panel of eminent and inspiring children’s writers and educationists.

“Students can write about anything that catches their interest or base their stories on themes like humour, mystery, folk tales, adventure, fairy tales, myths, history, science-fiction, culture or travel. They get an opportunity to unleash their creativity by writing a story in English, keeping in mind a word limit of 250 to 1000 words,” said a statement released by the company on Thursday.

“Students can get as creative as they wish to and send entries in the form of prose, poetry or even a play. Entries can be sent via post or online; last date to submit stories is March 10,” said the statement. Commenting on the launch, Ujjwal Singh, Vice-President, K12 Product, Pearson India, said, “Children have myriad tales to tell and the MyPedia Reader is based on the premise that a child’s world, context, aspirations, dreams and challenges are best understood and expressed by another child.

Thus, stories that express things as seen from a child’s perspective will have an unmatched appeal and relevance to other children and will help children experience the magical joy of reading." Interested children can visit https://in.pearson.com/iframe/apply-online.html for more details on submission.
