Cricket is the most revered sport in the sub-continent and taking forward the love for the game, stand-up comedians Hriday Ranjan and Rohit Swain created India’s first ever comedy show on cricket ‘Silly Point’. The duo will perform on May 20 at Hyderabadass Comedy Club, Heart Cup Coffee, Jubilee Hills.

Hriday and Rohit teamed up in 2013 and till date the duo performed in over 50 shows together. "This is the second year of ‘Silly Point’ and this year we are performing in every city which has an IPL team,” Hriday shares. “So far we have performed in Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi and Vizag.

The response has been great. We change our content as per the IPL teams in each city. We try to adopt the local conditions of a particular team. We focus on the local cricketers of the teams to grab the attention of the audience," he adds.

Speaking about their combination he shares "Rohit and I are good friends and we always talk about one common topic and that is cricket. Before every show, we do a test show to know the pulse of the audience. Last year we did out test show at Lamakaan and we received a great response.

In our every show, we try to play on people’s nostalgia. We made a lot of references to the current generation and the past one. In our show we talk about Sachin Tendulkar and we talk about 'Gully Cricket' and we think our nostalgia works," Hriday says.

Hriday shares that it takes two months for the duo to finalise the content for every show. “We try our jokes at various open mics and take best parts from there and compile a show.” Apart from 'Silly Point' the duo also did many shows like 'IT Returns' and 'North vs South'. Rohit and Hriday are planning to perform in Sri Lanka very soon.
