Iconart Gallery presents four works by Artist Avani Rao titled, ‘The Sooting Respiration’, ‘Hear The Lotus Bloom’, ‘Nature’s Sound Track’ and ‘On The Edge’.

Speaking about her art installation, Avani says, “Sooting’ means pollution and Respiration is about breathing, when we put these two together it means you’re breathing the pollution.”

Explaining further about it she shares, “As an artist I have been observing environment and I feel that we are living in pollution. I want to explore what has been actually happening to nature since many years and I came up with this concept.

This expo showcases how humans are disregarding, exploiting and misusing the nature. ‘A Sooting Respiration,’ is made with motor oil, cotton rags and wood.”

Avani’s second work, ‘Hear The Lotus Bloom’, made in mixed medium on canvas which explains the silence of the nature.

“My work ‘Nature’s Soundtrack’, an abstract painting, is delicately done yet profoundly impacting drawing of trees giving off sound waves. I used mediums like charcoal on wall and it explains the reflection of how life is not linear,” she adds.

About ‘On the Edge’ she says, “The theme of this piece revolves around the rusted iron from factories. I also took note of the gases from fuels from desolate sites. The painting itself is very dried. The medium I used in this painting is mixed medium on canvas.”
