The weekend cultural activities organised recently at Amphitheatre, Shilparamam enthralled the audience. On Saturday, ‘Natya Anisham-The Male Dance Festival’ was organised by International Dance Research and Training Centre, Kuchipudi.

The weekend cultural activities organised recently at Amphitheatre, Shilparamam enthralled the audience. On Saturday, ‘Natya Anisham-The Male Dance Festival’ was organised by International Dance Research and Training Centre, Kuchipudi.

The dance festival was inaugurated by DSV Shastry, Kala Krishna, Vempati Ravi Shanker, Professor Jonnalagadda Anuradha, Vempati Satya Prasad and Vempati Lakshmana Kumar.

Male Kuchipudi dancers from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala were participated in the festival. They presented items like ‘Gajavadana Bheduve’, ‘Nandakadhara Nanda Gopa Nandana’, ‘Kadiri Narasimhuda’, ‘Durga Tarngam’, ‘Ramayana Shabdam’, ‘Sandhya Tandavam’, ‘Sivashtakam’, ‘Sanchara Dhara- Jayadeva Ashtapadi’. All male dancers enthralled audience with their impeccable performance.

On Sunday, Santhosh Kumar along with Tamang of Narayani Natyalaya rendered Bharatanatyam. They started with ‘Pushpanjali’ and the group continued on items like ‘Alarippu’, ‘Natesha Kauthuvam’, ‘Jatiswaram’, ‘Saraswati Shabdam’, ‘Padavarnam’, ‘Keerthana’ and ‘Tillana’. Dancers including Ishita, Ananya, Ankita, Manvi, Hansika, Bhuvana, Navya, Rohini and Manasree spellbound the audience with their flaw less Bharatanatyam rendition.
