Renault has finally taken the wraps off the India-spec Captur and has made the crossover available for pre-order for an amount of Rs. 25,000/-. Renault is hoping that the Captur will do another Duster in the Indian car market.

The Renault Captur is a premium crossover built on the same B0 platform that underpins the Duster. The Indian Captur measures 4329 mm in length, 1813 mm in width and 1619 mm in height. The crossover has the same wheelbase (2673 mm) and ground clearance (210 mm) as the Duster. Production of the Captur has commenced at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam, Chennai.

Looks-wise and design-wise the Renault Captur comes across as a fresh design. The French styling cues are evident. Renault has simply not attributed the term ‘premium crossover’ to the Captur. The Captur is feature-rich and will definitely make its competitors sit up and take note.

The Sparkle full-LED headlamps, Sapphire LED DRLs, dynamic turn signals (front only), satin finished skid plates, 17-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, ripple tail-lights and dual-tone body colours, all make the Captur’s exterior stylish.

The interiors of the Renault Captur are feature-rich too. There is a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel with audio controls, Infinity instrument cluster, 7.0-inch ULC 3.0 touchscreen infotainment system with Navigation, automatic climate control with surround illumination, 6-way adjustable ErgoDesign white leather seats, golden accents on the centre console and AC vents, rear AC vents and LED ambient lighting.
