Uber awarded its top driver partners for maintaining high standards of safety at their annual event in the city recently.

Ramesh Chidura, Joint Transport Commissioner of Telangana was present at the event along with over 500 driver partners with their family members.

On this occasion Uber also announced the launch of UberSCHOLAR in Hyderabad, an initiative to make education accessible for driver partner’s children. Through this, Uber will provide scholarships of upto Rs 10,000 to the children of over 200 driver partners’ kids in the next year. In addition, Uber is organising a health camp to provide free checkups and eye tests.

Chidura commented, “The Government of Telangana is committed to enhancing road safety measures. We believe that technologies like Uber provide an incredible opportunity to improve road safety in new and innovative ways. Uber driver partners across the country are providing safe transportation to millions of people every day and many of you are even being awarded for maintaining high standards of safety. I encourage you all to continue this excellent service and contribute towards making Telangana an incident-free state.”
