As a part of ongoing developmental activities, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials began the facelift an age-old graveyard here on Tuesday. The burial ground, which was built by Gangaputra Sangham in 2000, was neglected over the years and faced a deficiency of funeral platforms.

Seethaphalmandi: As a part of ongoing developmental activities, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials began the facelift an age-old graveyard here on Tuesday. The burial ground, which was built by Gangaputra Sangham in 2000, was neglected over the years and faced a deficiency of funeral platforms.

Corporator Hema Samala along with GHMC Division Engineer Paramesh, Assistant Executive Engineer Lokuya, Ward Members and senior TRS leaders inspected the graveyard and decided to construct four funeral platforms. The envoy decided to build an arch at the entrance of the graveyard with its name embedded on it.

Corporator Hema said, “The graveyard site needs equal attention as it should be a resting place for our ancestors and hence officials of GHMC decided that renovation works will begin at the earliest with a fund of Rs 8 lakh.”
