Hitec City: It isn’t only the officials preparing for the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), but citizens, too joined the beautification drive. In this regard, art students from various private colleges are painting murals on the Hitec City flyover and re-touching potted plants that line the Madhapur stretch.

Meanwhile, security is beefed up in the area; sniffer dogs were brought on the site to ensure all preparations are in order. The entire operation is a welcome move for residents.

Rachna, a Tech Mahindra employee said, “I am excited about the programme. It is a matter of pride that Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the American President is making her maiden visit to India, and that too to Hyderabad. This programme is certainly going to raise the levels of the city in terms of getting international exposure.”

Raj Kiran, a bank of America employee added, “We are ready to cooperate with all the rules for the programme to maintain quorum in the area. Given a chance, I would love to witness the platform of the summit, which would see the participation of intellectuals across the globe.”

However, a few residents are bothered by the constant checks. Ravi, a local commuter at Madhapur said, “Checking is going on round-the-clock. Sometimes, in spite of being a local we are asked to produce Aadhar Card and relevant documents to prove our identity, and if we are not carrying it, we have to call up somebody at home to get the details, which makes things unpleasant.”

J Sattaiah, a senior traffic constable informed, “Special forces commandos, other district security forces, four civil constables, Deputy commissioner of Police, Assistant commissioner of police and Additional Superintendent of Police keep patrolling in and around the area, to ensure there is no unidentified person wandering. From 5:30pm to 11pm continuous checks are conducted by special security team.”
