TS Sports School sweeps SFA Hyderabad Championship
The inaugural edition of the SFA Hyderabad Championship ended on a high note with the Telangana State Sports School bagging the title of ‘Best School in Sports’ - 2017. The competitions were held across eight days in 23 sporting disciplines set the stage for the grand finale. The competitions were held across eight days in 23 sporting disciplines set the stage for the grand finale. There were over 50,000 spectators including parents, coaches and friends, who came to the Gachibowli Stadium over the whole sporting week to cheer for the 13,500 participants.
Rishikesh Joshi, Founder, SFA said, “It is interesting to see trends that are unique to each city. Hyderabad saw great participation in Kabaddi with 145 teams, while Football did not see a girls team. Mumbai, on the other hand, has had other trends. Our inaugural year in Hyderabad has been great and the participation has been overwhelming. We want to make this an annual event.
Hyderabad can look forward to SFA every November.”
Telangana State Sports School (Hakimpet) bagged 31 Gold, nine Silver and 10 Bronze and had a total of 192 points. The Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) won 22 Gold, 11 Silver and nine Bronze with a total of 152 points. Johnson Grammar School (Nacharam) secured 18 Gold, 12 Silver and seven Bronze and accumulated 133 points.
