Hyderabad: Dr R Hemalatha has been appointed as director of National Institute of Nutrition (NIN). Dr Hemalatha is an accomplished scientist with vast research experience in the field of maternal and child health, clinical and population based studies.
She is a recipient of several ICMR awards and served as secretary for Nutrition Society of India. She is a recipient of Fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences (FNAMS) in 2016 and Fellow of International Union of Nutrition Sciences (FIUNS) in 2017. She was a student of Gandhi Medical College from where she obtained her M D in 1996.
