LB Nagar: Police have a dual role to play in this society. One is to render protection and the other is to induce right values into the minds of people and criminals for better future. Rachakonda traffic police team has proved that humanity and policing goes along hand in hand.

Recently, a senior traffic inspector, A Nagamallu, showed humanity towards a senior citizen who was suffering with pain as a bike rashly rushed over his foot. Speaking about the incident Nagamallu told The Hans India, “It was late in the evening somewhere around 6.30 pm and 7.00 pm when I saw an old person who was wandering on the roads without knowing where to go.”

He said, “This old man had tried to cross the road, was run over by a speeding on his right foot. The worst part was the person who rushed the bike on this old man did not even look back at the victim. I went up and brought the injured person near the place where I sit on the road during my duty hours and gave first aid.”

When asked about the man, Nagamallu said, “He was not in a position to tell me his name. But what I could understand was, he had come from Karimnagar in search of his son, and he had lost the way in darkness.”

After giving first aid to the injured, I gave him food to eat which he had whole-heartedly. When enquired about where he had to go, he requested the police to take him towards Secunderabad, so, I got him towards Secunderabad and ensured that he reaches his destination safely, he said.

When asked him about his source of inspiration, he smiled and replied, “Our Commissionerate police team has a tagline of ‘Rachakonda police for you with you’ I am just following the same” said the super cop.
