Boduppal: The Cherlapally fire station officers along with 20 staff conducted awareness programme on fire management at Geetanjali Concept School here on Friday. The awareness programme was attended by around 400 students from Class six to ten.

Fire Station In-charge V Shekhar Reddy told The Hans India, “We started the programme at around 9:30 am in the morning and went on till 11:45 am. Five fire officers took part in the programme.”

When asked about the forms of training they gave to the children V Shekhar Reddy said, “We trained the children on how to take precautions to avoid fire accidents in the surroundings, how to extinguish fire in case of fire accidents, how to extinguish petrol, diesel and paint fires.”

“There are altogether six methods of first aids in case of burns. We demonstrated all of them to the children how to give first aid to people when they inhale poisonous gas by pressing their chest”, added the official.

Post demonstration, the children interacted with the crew and clarified their doubts which they had related to the subject and the demonstration which was shown to them.
