Hyderabad: The HMWSSB has identified 57 villages which do not have drinking water supply but having only bore well supply to provide drinking water supply under ORR Project in Phase-I. So far 22 villages are provided with drinking water supply.

Pipeline laying works are at a brisk space for the remaining villages and are expected to be completed by March 31. There are some critical gaps like railway crossings, R&B road and NH road crossings. Further approach roads to the Shamshabad Airport are to be crossed by tunneling.

Railway crossings approval by railways is under process and is expected in two or three days. The ORR Project comprises providing water supply to 183 villages and 7 municipalities by October 2018 at an estimated cost of Rs.628 Crores. The on-going works in Maheshwaram and Shamshabad mandals were inspected by Director Projects D Sridhar Babu and other officials.
