Parigi: The police here have been asking people to take precautions especially during the current summer season so as not to become victims of robbery as robbers target locked houses. The police said that they have put preventive measures in place, but asking the residents of the town to take precautions.

As people will be in the holiday mood, the robbers might step up their activity. The police quote the instance of how the robbers struck at a locked house in Sri Venkateswara Colony of Parigi in Vikarabad district. Besides using quality locks, the police advise the residents to inform neighbours and relatives about their absence from the town. Moreover, they are advised to use door curtains to conceal the locked door.

Further, the house-owners going out of town locking their homes should compulsorily inform the police and should take care not to keep valuables in their homes. Previously, there used to be menace due to petty thieves in busy areas of the town. But they shifted their base to the overcrowded venues of meetings to snatch wallets, the police said. The police are cautioning the people against the activity of robbers during the weekly shandy being held here on Saturdays and Sundays.

The common practice among the petty thieves is to rob people of their mobile phones and wallets.
The police ask the commuters to be careful while boarding the bus and alighting from it. They are advised against speaking to unidentified persons. The police are advising the people against speaking on mobile continuously for several hours. The people are asked not to sleep while travelling.

Informing the police about their absence would help police step up patrolling in their area. Talking to The Hans India, Parigi Circle Inspector Srinivas has been asking holiday makers leaving the town to take precautions. As far as possible, people should not keep valuable things in home. They should not give credence to those who visit residential colonies on the pretext of purchasing news papers and iron goods.

On account of holidays, patrolling has been stepped up in the town. Two teams patrol during nights from 10 pm to 6 am. The police are appealing to the residents to inform the SI on mobile (9440627260) about movements of suspects in their area.
