The South Central Railway has conducted a joint special drive for 10 days against unauthorized hawkers all over the zone, with a view to curb the menace of the unauthorized sale of eatables, beverages in trains.
Secunderabad: The South Central Railway has conducted a joint special drive for 10 days against unauthorized hawkers all over the zone, with a view to curb the menace of the unauthorized sale of eatables, beverages in trains.
In this 10 day special drive, 1,131 unauthorized hawkers were booked, another 285 unauthorized hawkers handed over for prosecution. An amount of Rs. 17, 83, 450/- were realized as penalty against unauthorized hawking. These drives were conducted involving officers/inspectors of the Commercial department, ticket checking staff, Railway Protection Force personnel etc.
