Centralised monitoring system set up for LED street lights
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has aggregated the details of the Centralized Control Monitoring System (CCMS) for street lighting across the city on a website:http://120.138.9.117:8080/ghmc which gives zone-wise information of the LED lights.
Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has aggregated the details of the Centralized Control Monitoring System (CCMS) for street lighting across the city on a website:http://120.138.9.117:8080/ghmc which gives zone-wise information of the LED lights. The website shows real time details of the CCMS connected LED street lights and their status. It also shows whether lights are on or off. The maintenance of this system has been given to the EESL.

• GHMC has installed about 4,06,729 LED lights during the past one year across the city
• 24,800 LED street lights are connected to CCMS
As per the website there are about 5,296 LED street lights connected to CCMS of which 250 were off in various divisions of south zone. GHMC has installed about 4,06,729 LED lights during the past one year across the city. Out of which about 24,800 LED street lights are connected to CCMS across all the zones of the city so far. GHMC claimed that it has been saving a lot of energy after the installation of LED lights and connecting it to the CCMS system.
Now, any citizen can monitor or see the status of the LED lights via the given link. The CCMS is useful in automatic switching on and off the LED street lights. Any citizen can also lodge a complaint to the authorities concerned if they notice any malfunction at helpline@eesl.co.in or they can log on to http://support.eeslindia.org.
