Tandur: Junior Civil Judge Salma Fatima on Friday said that Lok Adalat session would be held at the civil court here on July 14 to enable litigating public reach out of court settlement of petty cases.

Addressing media in the court premises here, she said that over 1,600 cases were in pending under the jurisdiction of the Tandur court. These include civil, matrimonial and criminal cases, she said. She exhorted the litigating parties to work out compromise and settle the disputes once forever without paying fee.

She said that she would be holding the legal awareness sessions in villages once in a month to sensitise people on legal issues. She said that a counselor would be appointed in court with the help of a NGO to counsel aggrieved parties on Domestic Violence Act and a complaint box would be installed in the court.
