Erragadda: The residents of the Saradhi Nagar in Erragadda are irked over the dump yard which is causing inconvenience to them. The locals alleged that a number of ailments including skin diseases affected the colony residents.

Once the place used to be a water body, but now it is filled with construction debris and wastage. Previously it was a lake but as locals started dumping construction debris the GHMC turned it into a dump yard.

Now, daily trucks of garbage dump the waste into the land.
Ramakanth, a resident of the Saradhi Nagar Society and an HR in Genpact, said, “Daily lots of garbage is dumped here in Saradahi Nagar which is the main cause for foul smell and mosquito breeding.

Around 200 families live here and most of them are getting affected by the foul smell and mosquito menace. The locals are requesting GHMC to shift the dump yard in some other place far away from the people.”

AIMIM Corporator Shaheen Begum’s husband and area in charge Mohammed Shareef speaking to The Hans India told that, “We have noticed the issue and Jubilee hills MLA Maganti Gopinath visited the area and interacted with the residents along with GHMC officials and asked residents issue a notice to remove the dump yard from the society.

And requested Ramesh Kumar, Deputy commissioner, Yousufguda to remove the dump yard from the society because in surroundings there are many people suffering because of the dump yard and construct a green park and play ground in place of dump yard.”

Ramesh said that, “We haven’t took any decision regarding the dump yard issue but we are removing the whole wastage daily by evening and cleaning the area and there are lorries of debris on the land will also be removed as soon as possible GHMC Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Erragadda division waiting for the residents notices.” Soon will come up with an initiative Ramesh added.
