300 orphan kids turn VVIPs for a day!
In a compassionate gesture, 300 orphaned children housed in some 10 orphanages were given a VVIP treatment at a star-rated hotel with good food, fun, frolic and on top of all, each one were given goodie bag worth Rs 1000 and above.
Hyderabad: In a compassionate gesture, 300 orphaned children housed in some 10 orphanages were given a VVIP treatment at a star-rated hotel with good food, fun, frolic and on top of all, each one were given goodie bag worth Rs 1000 and above.
The event – titled HAF Smiles – was organised by Hyderabad Arts Festival (HAF) as part of its three-month-long festival to celebrate the spirit of Hyderabad. Children aged between five and 12 years had a fun-filled day with a lot of games, interactive session, food, entertainment and much more.
“The event, which is an annual affair was organised in association with Touch a Life Foundation, a non-profit organisation, which works with a mission to empower underprivileged children.
“Apart from giving the kids a great day, we gave them a power-packed goodie bag as a remembrance of this day. The bag itself will be a useful as a school bag that they can own and this bag was filled with various other useful products.
The items include T-shirts, note books, pencils, pencil pouch, homemade chocolates, towel, smiley ball, crayons set, steel scale, water bottle, biscuit packets, toothbrush & paste set, pens and note pads,” said its organisers.
Also, this year, as part of HAF Smiles event, HAF in association with Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society conducted a blood donation camp for kids affected with Thalassemia condition.
Kids affected with this condition need blood transfusion every 15 to 20 days. There are 2,200 kids registered with this condition with Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society that enables blood transfusion to these kids free of cost.
