Two booked for kidnap, bid to molest minor girl

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on Wednesday booked two men on charges of kidnapping and attempt to molest a minor dalit girl.
According to the police, the accused, Ramesh and Srikanth, of Guntapalli village under the Hayatnagar Police Station limits forced a ninth standard dalit girl of their village into their car while she was going home from her school in Majeedpur on Wednesday evening.
The girl was walking back home when the duo abducted her in a car and tried to molest the girl in the moving car.
At this point, one Jagadish of Guntapalli village noticed the girl when she raised an alarm and alerted others.
The local villagers chased the car and caught hold of the abductors.
They rescued the girl and gave a sound thrashing to the abductors, before handing them over to the police.
Later, the girl lodged a complaint with the police.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under various provisions of the IPC for kidnap, attempt to molest, Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and also under the provisions of SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
