Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party which claims to be a party with great values is trying to indulge in poaching of leaders in Telangana. What is interesting is that they have entrusted this job to Bidar MP, alleged TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy.

In a chit chat with media on Thursday, the TPCC president said that the Bidar MP had spoken to some senior Congress leaders. BJP leader Laxmi Naryana contacted Sunitha Laxma Reddy and asked her to switch over to BJP but she refused the offer, Uttam said. He said that the State BJP was day dreaming of coming to power in Telangana. The BJP national president Amit Shah may be a big leader elsewhere; but in Telangana the saffron party does not have much strength and there is no scope of coming to power. BJP wishes to cash on Hindu-Muslim divide but it can never succeed, he said.

He said that in 2019 elections it will be Congress V/s TRS and Congress would certainly come to power, he added.Criticising the style of functioning of TRS, Uttam said the ruling party has converted even official foundation laying ceremonies as party programmes and is ignoring local public representatives. The TPCC would soon write a letter complaining to the Speaker about it, he said.

Meanwhile, BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy denied that they had contacted Congress leaders and that they were trying to poach them. He said it was the Congress leaders who were in touch with the BJP and were expressing their desire to join the party as they were unhappy with the way Congress had failed to emerge as a strong opposition to TRS.
