India\'s Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat called on Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at his official Balauwatar residence here on Wednesday.

Kathmandu [Nepal]: India's Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat called on Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at his official Balauwatar residence here on Wednesday.

General Rawat, who is also the honorary Chief of Nepal Army Staff, was accompanied by Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, during the meeting.

The subject of discussion is still to be released as General Rawat is also scheduled to call on Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.

The army chief, who is on a three-day visit to Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Lt. Gen. Rajendra Chhetri, arrived in Kathmandu on Monday.

General Rawat on Tuesday witnessed the Nepal Army Day celebrations in Tundikhel. He was the guest of honour at the Nepal Army Day celebrations.

He is scheduled to return to India after wrapping up his visit on Wednesday.

Nepal and India has the unique tradition of conferring the Head of the Army Staff on bothcountries with the honorary title of the Army, after another Chief of Army Staff takes office.

General Rawat who assumed office last year, came to Nepal to receive the Title of Honour of Nepal Army in the same year.
