Khammam: Poet and senior journalist B Prasen has been selected for the prestigious Sahitya Puraskaram by the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) for the year 2016.Prasen will be honoured by the TANA represented by its president Jampala Chowdary and secretary Madhu Tata in a literary programme christened ‘Ellalu leni Telugu’, to be held at the Sequel Resorts here on Thursday.

The last one is a mix of prose, poetry and essays.He also experimented with a new trend in the literary world by compiling a book ‘Kavitvam’ without naming the poet’s name, although it was compiled by him and three others.
‘Gaddaru Rajyamu Manamu’ written by Prasen, poet Juluri Gowrishankar and Vamsi Krishna has found place in the prestigious literary magazine of the Oxford University. It was translated into English by Velcheru Narayana Rao.His other works were translated by Prof Srinivas of Kakatiya University and published in Indian Literature Magazine.
It may be mentioned here that Prasen is one among two selected from two Telugu-speaking States – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana - by the literary committee of the TANA. Patibandla Rajitha of Nuzvid is the other poet selected for the annual award.
