Nalgonda: District Deputy Transport Commissioner Chandrashekar Goud stated that it is the duty of every citizen to follow the traffic and RTA rules to have safe and secure journey.

On Monday, he spoke to the media at his office chamber in Nalgonda on the occasion of 28th Road Safety Week celebrations to be held from January 17 to 23. As part of the celebrations, four types of programmes were planned which includes Education, Engineering, Enforcement and Emergency services.

As a part of education, meetings would be conducted on importance of road safety with students at all educational institutes in the district and special meetings with private transport vehicle drivers.

As a part of Engineering, all the line departments of road safety including RTA, RTC, police, R&B, Municipality and Panchayat Raj departments would collectively work together to implement various safety measures at recognised black spots in the district.

As a part of Enforcement, special inspections would be carried out at various places in the district throughout the week to file cases against the violators of traffic and RTA rules, he added.

Under Emergency services, villagers along the State and national highways passing through the district would be educated to assist the wounded whenever accidents occur at their villages.
