Nalgonda: Hyderabad range DIG Akun Sabharwal stated that human life was very valuable and it should not be lost on the roads.

On Tuesday, he along with District SP Prakash Reddy, Joint Collector C Satyanaryana Reddy and Deputy Transport Commissioner Chandra Shekar Goud launched the Road Safety Week celebrations at NG College grounds in Nalgonda.

Addressing the students on the occasion, Akun Sabharwal advised the students to follow traffic rules and create awareness among family, friends and relatives about the traffic rules for safe and secure journey.

The top cop also advised people to wear helmets while travelling on two-wheelers and wear seat belts while commuting in four-wheelers for safety.

He suggested them to not talk over phone while driving and drive the vehicle in an inebriated condition. “Parents and elders should discourage driving by minors,” he said.

As a part of the programme, he along with other officials released road safety posters, administered pledge with students and flagged off the rally which passed through the main streets of the town with slogans and placards to educate the denizens on traffic rules.

Nalgonda DSP Sudhakar, CIs Subbiram Reddy, Anuradha, Adireddy, Lecturers Ansari, Sudharani, MVIs and others participated.
