Construction of two-bedroom houses is going on at a fast pace in the districts of Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem.
Kothagudem: Construction of two-bedroom houses is going on at a fast pace in the districts of Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem.
Collectors of the districts Lokesh Kumar and Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu respectively have been organising reviews with the officials concerned on a regular basis. They ordered the officials not to compromise on the quality of construction and cautioned them against negligence.
Principle Secretary to Government Chitra Ramachandran expressed happiness after examining the construction works here. She enquired various details regarding the works.
Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu said construction works of 1,298 houses were going on in the constituencies of Pinapaka, Yellandu, Bhadrachalam and Aswaraopet, which are under the limits of Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDA). He said 800 houses were taken up by Panchayat Raj in Kothagudem.
“Grounding has been done for 1,077 houses of 1,298 taken up by ITDA. As many as 100 houses are constructed so far, while 250 are at slab level and 250 are at basement level. Rs 8 crore was spent on construction and a proposal for the remaining Rs 6 crore was sent to the government.
The construction of 800 houses taken up by Panchayat Raj in Kothagudem was yet to start. By Ugadi, construction of 250 houses will be started,” he added.
ITDA executive engineer Shankar has been inspecting construction works of two-bedroom houses in the districts of Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mahabubabad.
“Tenders have been approved for 2,213 houses out of 3,360 sanctioned ones. Out of 960 sanctioned houses in Khammam, 235 are Below Basement Level (BBL) and 14 are at Roof Level (RL). Out of 142 houses in Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 14 are at BBL and 59 at RL, out of 160 in Mahabubabad 10 are at BBL,” Hanumanthu added.
He also said steps would be taken to increase the pace of works without compromising on the quality.
