Aswaraopet (Khammam): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is trying to suppress the voice of people, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said, accusing the TRS government of foiling the ‘Nirudyoga Nirasana Rally’ scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering at a meeting here on Thursday, Bhatti found fault with the State government for blindly supporting the demonetisation move that rattled the lives of crores of poor in the country.

“Demonetisation move was a conspiracy to benefit the corporate houses,” he said, accusing the BJP-led Central government of being nonchalant towards the problems of the poor. The petty traders and vendors were the worst affected due to scrapping of high-value notes, he said, stating that it helped the big businessmen who run malls and hyper markets.

He said KCR, who promised jobs, double bedroom houses, 3-acre land to Dalits and 12 per cent reservations to Muslim minorities, has forgotten all of them. Moreover, he is trying to fool the people with new promises. Neither KCR implements the welfare schemes introduced by the Congress government nor of his own, Bhatti alleged.

“TRS government is trying to loot public money in the name of redesigning of irrigation projects,” he said, pointing to scrapped Rajiv Sagar project.

“The State was in surplus revenue, but the TRS government pushed it into a debt trap within two years of its regime,” the TPCC working president said, ridiculing that State has got first place in the entire country in terms of the debt burden, said to be Rs 1.20 lakh crore.

He asserted that Congress would continue its fight against the ruling TRS government until the latter bites the dust.

The TRS government has to pay for its misrule when the Congress makes a comeback in 2019 elections, Bhatti said, appealing to his cadres to expose the ruling party’s corruption. Former Minister Vanama Venkateswar Rao and Khammam DCC president Aitham Satyam were among others present.
